Why keep them to myself?
Since I'm getting ready to drive to Texas this afternoon, I can't be very verbose about the origins of both myself and my system. Briefly: I'll start with a ranking that is based on a team's performances over the last 4 years, with a geometric progression decreasing the influence of older data. This I'll couple with returning starter data, with a nod toward a team returning their quarterback. At this time, there are no 'scores,' just a rank.
So, without further ado, my inaugural Top 25!
| RANK | TEAM | CONF |
| 25 | Kansas | Big 12 |
| 24 | Fresno State | WAC |
| 23 | Boston College | ACC |
| 22 | Michigan | Big 10 |
| 21 | TCU | Mtn W |
| 20 | Clemson | ACC |
| 19 | Penn State | Big 10 |
| 18 | Missouri | Big 12 |
| 17 | Arizona State | PAC 10 |
| 16 | BYU | Mtn W |
| 15 | Texas Tech | Big 12 |
| 14 | Tennessee | SEC |
| 13 | Utah | Mtn W |
| 12 | Virginia Tech | ACC |
| 11 | Florida | SEC |
| 10 | Wisconsin | Big 10 |
| 9 | LSU | SEC |
| 8 | Auburn | SEC |
| 7 | West Virginia | Big E |
| 6 | Oklahoma | Big 12 |
| 5 | USC | PAC 10 |
| 4 | Boise State | WAC |
| 3 | Texas | Big 12 |
| 2 | Georgia | SEC |
| 1 | Ohio State | Big 10 |
I'll be back in a week, then I'll post the whole list and strength of schedule.
Meanwhile, please comment - I'm sure there's plenty of craziness in the above list (TCU, Utah, Boise St.).

Interesting. Having some insight into your method, I find it interesting how much weight the previous years performance weighed in. Clearly Boise State has a great record, but can they keep that record if they were in other conferences?
I'll be watching to see how the season pans out for sure! - B
